Glorious Ginghams!

Well, I have been playing with those gorjuss gingahm papers i got last week, and come up with a few more.... gingham isn't just for babies!!! It also works with Craftworks owls, and of course, my new flower punches!!!! ...... xx

Baby cards

Someone at work had a little boy last week, and I wanted to make her a special card. This is what I came up with.....

I bought the "gorjuss ginghams" from funky fairies (only £2.50!!!!! and you get loads of colours...reds, pinks, blues, greens, browns, etc)) and printed out the babys name on my pc, from wordart. I used my new flower punches and aded gems to the middle, a little length of ribbon and I wrote the word "welcome.." I also chalked carefully around the edges of the papers.

I got the bug to use more gingham, so made a general "baby boy" card, using the smae techniques as the card above..... I am really pleased with these cards. xx

Fathers day and Mums birthday

It was my Mums birthday yesterday, and as I promised I wouldn't do, I left it till the last min to make her card! That'll teach me, as the printer was having a fit (and then died!!!) as I was trying to print something for her card, so Hubby reminded me I have plenty of other stuff I could use - in my craft room! After a quick look, I found some nice papers and an image I printed off a while ago. The doodle paper is from Pink Petticoat...LOVE that paper! She loved this card :)



I got the inspiration for this card from someone on Docrafts. I did my own take on the card, and made one for my dad and one for hubbys dad. This is the card for hubbys dad.... he likes to garden, so I drew some "free seeds" on the back of the newspaper.



On my dads card, I drew a "free bingo card" as he loves to play online bingo! I used dovecraft papers for the armchairs... and cut all pieces by hand. Sentiment typed out on the dymo. Quite easy really! xx

Hubby got me this storage...

My lovely hubby got me this storage thingamy a while back. ......


It sat in my craft room for a while, hoping to be used. It seemed such a daunting task - to clean it, alter it a bit (as it didnt go with my colour scheme!) and fill it, as well as labelling........

....But I have done it!!! It is in full use now, and VERY useful in my craft room! As you may notice, I still have a few drawers left in the middle row, to fill. It holds all my buttons, charms, eyelets, gromlets, foam shapes, paper flowers, ...allsorts! Thanks, Scott! xxxxxxx

Cards for friends

I made this for someone a work... she LOVES hedgehogs and those Penny Black images are just so cute! Thought they were just right for this card...a bit of a cheat, this is a PB sticker, as I don't have any of the stamps. The paper was from one of the bargain packs I got in Llandudno, and the sentiment is from Craftwork cards. I got the sparkly gems I used for the centre of the flowers, at Leigh craft show. )



I made this one for my best friend. He is a foster carer to two children...one aged 15 and one aged 12, and I knew he would love this image ... as he would love to have the time (and inclination!!!) to do up his back garden and sit out there and relax. xx

A totally different card.

I saw a card along these lines in someones gallery on Docrafts (I'm sorry - I have forgotten who that is!!) and I loved the idea, so I had a go! I made it my own by altering the shape slightly...it tapers a bit to the top. I didn't have any fruity stamps, so I just cut it out freehand and drew the seeds on. Maybe I need a scallop punch if I'm going to make more of these... it was quite fiddly to cut with my trusty scallop scissors. The ribbon keeps the card shut. Just the right kind of card, I think - for this weather!!! (We were up at 5am this morning to go car booting and the weather was beautiful when we got there at 6:20am!)
My Hubby said..."um....its different!" when I showed it to him..... hope you like it! xx

I made a maze book!

I have been inspired by Chelle and her Mum to make a maze book. I love the little books that they make to sell on their stalls. I watched a tutorial on U-Tube and had a go! the paper in the middle isnt exactly what I wanted, as I wanted a plain colour, but couldnt find a few 8x8 pages the same in one colour. This is just an experiment really. I used the big bite to make a hole in the front so I could add the flower charm and some ribbon so it will close. For the front and back, I used the back of a writing pad! I will post new pics once I have filled this with pics and sentiments.

I really enjoyed making this...it didn't take long, was quite simple, but has made me want MORE papers!!!! xx
