Latest cards

It.s my sisters boyfriends birthday in a few weeks and he is the big 4-0. I had been having a think about what kind of card to make, and then I remembered a card I had seen on Zoe Robsons blog...... so I had a play on Publisher last night, and came up with this! (I decoupaged the number in the middle of the red circle, too)

I thought others may like this design too, and so I made some for "my box". (I always have some extras in my box, for those times I only remember last minute, and incase anyone asks to see some of my cards. ) So, here are the others....

This is another I made for my box, using funky fairies papers...sadly, they are no longer online :(

And finally, a colleague at work just had a baby boy called James, so I made a card for him. Again, I used funky fairies gingham paper and I handcut the babygro. I punched out the flowers, chalked the edges of everything and handwrote the sentiment and his name. xx

Me again.. still on snowdays!

I have had plenty of time to be blogging and crafting this week...the snow is still piled high here and I still can't get my car out of the back cos of the snow and ice AND I'm unable to open my back gates! (to get my car out)

Anyway, I got a fab little stamp in "Home bargains" last week...for the measely sum of 49p! It's this beer stamp.... just thought it would make a good mans card...and I immediately thought of some papers with clocks on which are from Funky Fairies (...which I believe, have now closed down). I love the aqua colour with the brown clock paper, and loved the look of a quickutz beer mug with them image, too.

This is the same image and papers again, but without the beermug. I might try a sentiment on here though....not sure yet....

While making some cards for someone on docrafts the other day (I was donating some breast cancer care cards to her) I used an image from Pink petticoat, to make a card to have in my collection. The paper is Pink petticoat too and I love the colours of this one. Coloured with promarkers.

I made this one for my Aunties birthday a few days ago. I used a new stamp I bought about 2 months ago...from a car boot sale... the cat samp was 50p and this is the first time I have used it! It is quite a large stamp, but that makes a nice change for me... I only have small stamps really. The paper is from a dovecraft pack, and I coloured a little of the image with my promarkers.

On the theme of cats, anyone who knows me will know I have 2 cats whom I adore...and spoil like mad! (see pic of them on post below) On Tuesday, Hubby also had a snowday with me, as we couldn't dig out his car and the roads were thick with snow. So, apart from taking a walk down the Sankey Valley park, at the bottom of our road, we made a snowcat in our back garden! It's not too detailed or shaped that well, because I was just so cold! almost as cold as when were were in New York! xx

My first EVER snowdays!!!

Well, for the first time ever, school has had to be closed because of the weather. Yeahhhh!!!! We had a lot of snow on Monday night and some yesterday afternoon. it was so deep here! My car is still snowed in in the back garden,. and will be awful to dig out of the garden and the alley along the back, when I have to go to work... Sun - please melt it!!! Our cats weren't very happy with the snow, but Vincent jumped out of the window and had a potter...Lily preferred to watch him. :)

This pic was taken from the back bedroom window. I love the telephone wire - covered in a thick layer of snow!

So... while I have been sat in - fully dressed and with my dressing gown on (!) I have been crafting. I just felt the urge to make some elephant cards. I think I like them!

Also, I have been making some cards for someone to sell for the breast cancer care charity. I used some pink petticoat papers and images and a cat template for the card at the bottom.

Christmas in NEW YORK!!!!

The christmas tree at the Rockerfella Centre.... Wow! It is such an amazing sight, and every night, there are hundreds, if not thousands of people, trying to take its photo! Stunning sight!!

This is the Rockerfella Christmas tree in the day - not so busy, and we could get a picture showing the fountain and ice skating rink set underneath the tree.

We booked our seats, for the 2pm showing of the "Christmas Spectacular" at Radio City Music Hall, on Christmas Day. Definately spectacular...and amazing!!!!! This pic is form a scene in the performance.... the Rockettes are dancing on a new york double decker bus and it takes us on a journey through Manhattan. ...

..and these Santas were great!!!

I took this pic at Central Park, after I had finished ice skating there. It didn't take me long, I'm afraid... I was hopeless at it! I managed one round of the rink, clinging for dear life onto the bar around the edge. At least I didn't fall over!!! hahahah... Hubby did a few more laps than me... showoff! He is on the picture....on the far left, near the "trump" sign, he has on a black coat and a grey hood...you can just see the back of him.

We took loads of photos, but I just wanted to show a few. .... xx

Christmas in NEW YORK!!! (continued)

This is me and my lovely hunny, on the walk down to Times Square, from our hotel. The hotel was in a great location...just a 5 min or so walk into Times Square! We had a fantastic time!

Macys, on 34th street - I just adore the twinkly lights of "Believe" on the side of the store. ...

The gorgeous christmas tree and ice rink, was at Bryant park... past Times Square and right next to the public library - where the lion statues come to life in "Ghostbusters". There was also a christmas market there, which sold lovely hot apple cider (we had a few!) and lots of beautiful things!

This is us in Central Park on our first morning there. It had snowed 2 days before we got there... it had snowed a lot! The sun was out - but it was so cold!!

Ahhh.. Times Square at night. If you ever get a chance to visit New York....do it!!!! It is the most amazing place......... xx

VERY late christmas presents!!!

Well, there is a story here....

I bought these clocks a while back.... in the summer holidays, actually. I bought them with "altering" in mind...for christmas presies for my sister and my Mum. They have been sat in my craft room, waiting paitently all this time. Hubby kept reminding me I needed to do it.... and before I knew it, we were approaching christmas holidays and I had wrapped all our other gifts up!

As you may or may not know, we spent christmas in NEW YORK CITY this year!!!!!! (pics to come soon!) We got back on Monday, and were going round to my mum and dads for "christmas 2" today - so guess what I was up doing, till all hours last night?!?!?! Yes, ....these darn clocks!!!

I must admit. I am pleased with the way they came out, and my Mum and Dad and sister, all loved them! Phew! They were a little tricky at first, but once I had worked out a paper pattern, I used Pink petticoat papers to cover the clock, added a little liquid pearls and some teeny pearls on the larger flowers.
Here is Mums....

This one is for my Sister...I used funky fairies papers to make kaths, chalking the edges in green and adding a few green sparkly gems and a little liquid pearls here and there.....

So, I think it was well worth it....but I wish I had just bitten the bullet and got on with it earlier. My friend, Pam, thought I was really good for crafting the day I came back from NYC, but I reminded her that I was naughty leaving it this late, really! (The day before I was due to give them as presies!) Anyway - stress, over...will have to root through some of the photos we took while away, to show you what a fab christmas we had. xx

A few more....

I got this stamp from a boot sale a few months ago - and knew I would use it on my christmas cards.... I think it is a papermania stamp. I inked the edges of the image and put some acetate through my big shot, with the snowflakes embossing folder. Added a sentiment, a lovely gold ribbon, some stickles here and there and trimmed along the bottom edge with my bunpy scissors.

This paper is from a paper pack, but I can't remember which pack! I thought these snowmen are sooo cute... It's kinda hard to see, but I have decoupaged 2 snowmen on the bottom row ( on the left). Cute!

This image comes from a download I bought a while back. I added pink petticoat papers and some glossy accents to the baubles.

This paper is from a dovecrafts christmas paper pack and I thought it went really well with this digital download image. I love those snowmen throwing snowballs!!

Yet another dovecrafts christmas paper pack... I made the tree seperately and stuck it on with 3d pads. Hope you like my latest lot! xx
