Just a quickie... mens / boys cards

Don't you hate making mens cards? I do!!! But I needed to make a card for my friends foster son who is 15 in a few weeks... I think its funky enough for him, but oh, I don't know! Oh well, it will have to do cos thats what he's getting!!!

I love this Debbie Mumm image - and thought it would work well on a male card. So, using a paper from the male stack from dovecraft which I bought last week, I have produced this...which could be a birthday, retirement or general male card I think. xx

Bargain at Llandudno

We had lovely weather on Bank Holiday Monday, so we took a trip to Llandudno for the day. We found a lovely shop which you must visit if you go there... "Crafters Paradise"...and wow...it was!! I got an 8 x 8 dovecraft floral paper pack (£2.00) a 6 x 6 dovecraft mens paper pack (£1.50) a 6 x 6 dovecraft birthday paper pack (£1.50) a set of big dovecraft mens brads (£1.00) and a set of dovecraft christmas big brads (60p)....what a bargain! Here are a couple of cards I have made with todays bargains....
The chick image is from Pink Petticoat. I cut the heart and its scallops myself as I don't have any nesties...yet! Thesee papers are from the birthday set.

Again, another Pink Petticoat image, and this time I used the floral papers, and a hand written sentiment.

Not sure if this card is finished yet.... as I don't know if I need something on the top half of this card. Scallops cut with my scallop scissors and I drew on the little white dots. Butterfly = quickutz diecut on my bigshot. Paper from the birthday set.

Remember When series.

I don't really do decoupage, but when I saw this "Remember When" range from La Pashe, I thought they were so different, and I bought a few of them. They all come in sepia or coloured, and are really easy to do... very relaxing!
The bakers....

The horse...
The garden...

The Bar...

My little helpers....

Thought I would show you my little crafty helpers... well, I say helper, but maybe Vincent (who was asleep on the windowseat as I was crafting on Wednesday,) got a bit tired when he saw all the stuff I had out on the table. ....

And this is my Lily.... good as gold, and always wanting to be in on the action! Hubby calls her my shadow. She sleeps on me every night. As you can see, I was trying to do a bit of sewing!!!!

Easter holidays!!

Yeah! It's Easter holidays! 2 whole weeks of not working!!!! :) I was having a play last night and came up with this card, which I liked and decided to use it as as basis for some more cards based on this design. I cut the scallops with my scallop edge scissors and doodled on the card, as well as chalking the edges, and I added a watering can by "Debbie Mumm."

I had forgotten I had these stamps from a Q.V.C set I bought last year. They are small and round, and have a couple of different messages on them. I made them into the centre of each flower and used paper flowers underneath, for the petals. I handcut and chalked the stem and leaves, aswell as chalking the edges of the paper to give a bit of "depth."

I have made this thankyou card for a neigbour of ours.... they are an eldery couple and they always bring our bin up to our back gate, after the binmen have been, and we are still at work. I'm going to take them a little bunch of flowers too. Hope they like it.....

These are the last couple of cards I have made with my "love" stamp... and more pink petticoat papers!

My new stamp

I bought a new stamp a couple of weekends ago - at a car boot sale! I bought it for £2.00 and knew it would look lovely... especially when I teamed it with my papers from Pink Petticoat and the bracket stamps from a Q.V.C set I bought aggges ago! I loved these papers so much, that I didn't want to hide too much of them...

I just added some organza ribbon and a congrats stamp (from the Q.V.C. set) with a bit of matting and layering. ....

A lovely classy paper from Pink Petticoat, simply matted with a length of organza ribbon and my new stamp has been mounted on foam pads....

This card is made using the cuttlebug birds embossing folder, a cuttlebug diecut corner and a homemade stamp! yes!!! I made the stamp myself! (with help of hubby) when I bought a set called IMAGE-PAC. I haven't had a play with the pack for a while, but may try again over the Easter hols. Liquid pearls used, also.

Another gorgeous paper from Pink Petticoat... matted on dark red. Stamps as before, and a touch of liquid pearls. Thanks for looking! xx
