VERY late christmas presents!!!

Well, there is a story here....

I bought these clocks a while back.... in the summer holidays, actually. I bought them with "altering" in mind...for christmas presies for my sister and my Mum. They have been sat in my craft room, waiting paitently all this time. Hubby kept reminding me I needed to do it.... and before I knew it, we were approaching christmas holidays and I had wrapped all our other gifts up!

As you may or may not know, we spent christmas in NEW YORK CITY this year!!!!!! (pics to come soon!) We got back on Monday, and were going round to my mum and dads for "christmas 2" today - so guess what I was up doing, till all hours last night?!?!?! Yes, ....these darn clocks!!!

I must admit. I am pleased with the way they came out, and my Mum and Dad and sister, all loved them! Phew! They were a little tricky at first, but once I had worked out a paper pattern, I used Pink petticoat papers to cover the clock, added a little liquid pearls and some teeny pearls on the larger flowers.
Here is Mums....

This one is for my Sister...I used funky fairies papers to make kaths, chalking the edges in green and adding a few green sparkly gems and a little liquid pearls here and there.....

So, I think it was well worth it....but I wish I had just bitten the bullet and got on with it earlier. My friend, Pam, thought I was really good for crafting the day I came back from NYC, but I reminded her that I was naughty leaving it this late, really! (The day before I was due to give them as presies!) Anyway - stress, over...will have to root through some of the photos we took while away, to show you what a fab christmas we had. xx

A few more....

I got this stamp from a boot sale a few months ago - and knew I would use it on my christmas cards.... I think it is a papermania stamp. I inked the edges of the image and put some acetate through my big shot, with the snowflakes embossing folder. Added a sentiment, a lovely gold ribbon, some stickles here and there and trimmed along the bottom edge with my bunpy scissors.

This paper is from a paper pack, but I can't remember which pack! I thought these snowmen are sooo cute... It's kinda hard to see, but I have decoupaged 2 snowmen on the bottom row ( on the left). Cute!

This image comes from a download I bought a while back. I added pink petticoat papers and some glossy accents to the baubles.

This paper is from a dovecrafts christmas paper pack and I thought it went really well with this digital download image. I love those snowmen throwing snowballs!!

Yet another dovecrafts christmas paper pack... I made the tree seperately and stuck it on with 3d pads. Hope you like my latest lot! xx

Christmas part 3....

Well, I haven't finished yet.... I am going to get these made and sent in the first week or so of December... I always say that though, and never manage it! haha...

Again, I have been using my pink petticoat papers and cute snowman images, with the odd bit of stickles and glitter here and there...

Oh, this card (below) was made using a lovely dovecrafts paper. I just cut out the squares and arrnaged on my card, adding some glossy accents, (but you can't see that on the piccie...I used glossy accents on hats, wings, beaks, etc) and then hand writing around the image, like a frame. My friend Pam, didn't believe I had written it myself, until I sat and made a card with her and wrote all the way round the edge! Thanks for looking! xx

More christmas cards...

Thought I would use some of the downloads which I bought earlier in the year. I think the are so cute! I used pink petticoat christmas papers with these cards...

Then, I found this paper...a dovecraft cristmas paper, which I thought would be very cute with this winter thyme image. I bought this paper as pasrt of a pack, at Aintree craft show in May...and the pack was only £1!!!!

Again, Pink petticoat paper was enough for this image to stand out.... I love the fact that the message/ sentiment is there, ready, on the paper. One of my favourite christmas papers at the mo I think. Mind you, there are a lot of christmas papers that i like....some I haven't been able to cut into and use yet! xx

A proper start on my christmas cards....

I sat down on Sunday night, and made a start on my christmas cards!

I had bought some dovecraft papers at Aintree craft show in May and loved this christmas tree paper. I thought it went really well with this pink petticoat image that I have had for aaaaaages and never used!

Pink petticoat papers and one of last years images.... I think i got these too late to use last year, sand think they are sooo cute! (coloured with promarkers) I think the red flower is quite cute too.

Yet again...Pink petticoat papers and image... what a cute little donkey! (coloured with promarkers) I added a dot of liquid pearls on the little snowflakes, and used it on donkeys tail and hat too.

This is another card made using the dovecraft papers,...I didn't think this needed much more than cutting out the squares and mounting them to this 9 square shape. I might add a little glitter to this before I send it though :)

Thanks for looking!!! xxx

Gardeners wellie

Just a quickie tonight...made this gardeners wellie last night. Wanted to do something a little different with the wellie template, and came up with this. I am going to make a little bus wellie too, but couldn't find the paper I wanted to make that last night. The label is a little difficult to see, but it says "best wishes". All the gardeners items were cut on my bigshot. xx

My nieces birthday card

I asked my niece (who will be 6 on Saturday) what she would like on her card from me...she said "Pink, flowers, and a butterfly"....

This is what I came up with.... I used a paper i think i got in a poundshop. The nestie... my friend Pam cut for me, and she also let me stamp her little girl with a cupcake... Thanks Pam!!! I stamped the nestie with a stamp I have but hadn't got round to using yet. Oh, and Pam also gave me some card candy (from craftwork cards) which I used as the centre of flowers, with a little bit of stickles over the top to make them sparkle. I added a bigshot tag and wrote her name on. I also cut the butterfly on my bigshot...its a lovely quickutz die.

I hope she likes it! xx

I have been making some more handbag cards...

Well, the kast tiem I took my cards out to sell, a few weeks ago, I sold the last few of my handbag cards. One lady told me she had bought them from me before and kept looking out for my stall again, so she could buy some more...she bought the last three! So, while it's half term, I thought I would get loads of bits and bobs out and have a play. Here are the results.....

Hope you like them. I am pleased with them....especially seeing as I made the template myself!!
xx

..and some more...

Here are some more handbags I have been making over the last few days...you can tell it's half term, can't you?! :)

Oooooh, and I had to show you this one... Its a lcard for a little girl...a very fashionable and very pink(!) wellie! I thought this paper would go perfectly with this template. I haven't made a boys version yet, but I'm sure I shall soon! xx

Some more La Pashe

I got some new La Pashe recently, and made them up...though I forgot to take the pic of the sweet shop one which I made for my Grandma for her birthday this week.
This is the ice cream van one...

And you could almost smell these cakes!... xx

My first christmas cards!

I made this card for my friend Jaki, who lives in Canada. Thought I had better get it in the post, what with all the looming strikes! It inspired me to start my christmas cards earlier than I usually do! The image - I think, - is Tilda...tho don't quote me on that! One of my lovely friends on docrafts sent it to me. I coloured it with my promarkers, and added some glossy accents to her wellies. I matted her onto some lovely paper from a dovecarft paper pack, added some ribbon and some diecut snowflakes.

I made this for another Canadian friend...who has been staying with my folks for the last three weeks. I wanted to give her this before she went back there...she will be on the plane home now as I type! You can't see it in this pic, but I have glittered a lot of this card with stickles gold glitter, highlighting: the bells, clock, ornaments and fire.

I got into the swing of these cards so made this for a stall I am having soon. Another La pase dcoupage...glittered (although it didn't photograph). Love the curtains on this one.

And one more.... for the stall. (La pashe decoupage) I love the images of the old fashioned toys in this window. You can just imagine what the little girl is thinking. Again, glittered on all of the snow parts, and santas beard....but it didn't show up again! xx

Hubby's Dad's birthday

I made this today - it's from the La Pashe series. These are great fun to make. I made this one a little differently .... I cut the top half off the front piece of the card and used the hanging meats part of the image on the inside of the card. On the front bottom half of the card, i put the lower shelves of the shop, and decoupaged on the old couple looking at the meats. I think you may be ble to see hwta I mean, from the picture, better than I can explain it, anyway! Hope he likes it! (he likes market shopping and black pudding!) xx

Card order from neighbour.

My neighbours daughter is doing dance at uni and asked me to make some cards for her daughter to give her friens...saying good luck (for a ballet / modern show they are to be in) and one card to say well done.... from my neighbour to her daughter. She asked me weeks ago and I have been putting them off and putting them off. I have finally got down to it, and am fairly pleased with what I have come up with. Pink petticoat papers used, black organza ribbon, and lots of black spots of stickles sparkle!

Hope she likes them all!!!! xx

Why did I leave it so late?!

It was my mother in laws birthday on Tuesday and I only made her card on Sunday night...we delivered it to her after work on Monday. Think my mojo had disappeared recently and I just couldn't get any ideas together to make a card for her. Anyway - I used this template I have and a paper from dovecrafts behind.... I thought it resembled zips. I made the sewing machine a little smaller than the template, and added my own needle and little knob/ wheel near to the needle. Thought buttons would look appropriate in th centre of the flowers. xx

How fab is my Hubby?!?!!?

I came home from work today and my Hubby was here to meet me... he said he had got me something today which I might like. I went in the living room and look at what he had for me.....

WOW! My very own card stand! Well, it isn't a real card stand, but Hubby has sorted it so it can be one, just for me!

Awww......

He had been to an appointment and was walking along the street when he saw a skip... and this had been poking out of the top! It's big, its clear perspex, and it holds TONS of my cards!!! He stood it up (it is very sturdy) with the aid of a cooling rack at the back, and hey presto! Best of all...it was free! A shop had been refitting and were throwing it out. He asked the guys putting stuff in the skip if he could have it and they said yes. (it was a magazine rack) So Hubby brought it home and cleaned it up for me. The pic below shows that it also deep enough for me to put layers of cards in it. How great is my Hubby?!?!?! xx

My friends had baby number 2!

...so I made them this card last night, after I heard the news. It's a boy...they called him Charlie and he was an eye-watering 9lb 11oz!!! Hope they like the card...made it similar to the "Joseph" card I did a few months ago, as it was so well received. xx

Hubby's Brother's birthday

I made this for Hubby's Brother's birthday...his birthday is today. I printed the letters on the pc in different fonts and cut them from different papers from the masculine dovecraft papers collection. I drew on the hand stitching and cut the bottom of the bottom border with my fiskars scissors. Quite a simple card, but men are always difficult to make for, aren't they? xx

Last day of the summer hols... :(

Well, its the most depressing day of the year for me, I'm afraid...the last day of the long summer hols. By this time, I get so used to doing my own thing, in my own time... shopping when i want, having a shower in the middle of the day, being able to whip my washing in at dinnertime if it starts to rain (heheheh) and making a bag or card or two when I fancy. . But now it's all change again...back to routine, not enough time for doing the things I want to be doing...ie: crafting.

Oh well...

I thought I would make it count, by making some cards. I got some new papers from funky fairy and printed off a couple I liked. After having a play, I have come up with these....feel like they are inspired by my good friend, Meandlilg. I really liked the string she used on her latest card, so had a play with that, too. This first one, uses a new stamp which I bought at Haigh show (where I sold quite a few bags!). I just really liked the sentiment of the stamp. (it says..."Live your life, and forget your age") I added some jewel brads, a paper flower and some liquid pearls.

I made this second card specifically for my Aunty Janet. It is her birthday next week and she is turning the big 5 - 0. (she will be so embarrassed if she reads this!) Jan loves angels, so I came up with this for her this morning. I just really love the colour of these blue papers....perfect for with this angel! Hope she likes it...

And finally, I thought I should use some clip art I bought a little while back. (The angel from the card above is clipart I bought from the same site, too). My friend, Pam gave me this paper...I love the swirly pattern! I have used glossy accents on the bird and the bees, and a paper flower, with a jewel brad in the middle, and have faux drawn handstitching around the edge. No sentiment on here yet, as I'm not sure who I need to send this one too, yet. xx
