Finally...I have been creating...

I have been having a play with some digi kits I have had for a while... I used publisher to set out the papaer and elements ontop. It's great fun to play with these kits, as you can make anything any size you like! I matted and layered the image after printing it out and decoupaging the car and traffic lights.

I used the same kit and made this card....I decoupaged the houses and put glossy accents over the rainbow.
When we were still in the world cup, "Imag-e-nation" had an offer on La Pashe products...so I bought some! I couldn't resist the cheap price they were! Here are a few cards I have made, using the images and actetate behind them, so the background shows through. I didn't have any aperture cards, so thought I would make my own, by using a circle cutter..I think it is the fiskars one. Dead easy, I think. I made the shopping card first, and did the writing around the apreture myself, as I thought it looked too plain when left blank. I liked the effect, so used that on the other La Pashe cards I made, too.....

I've been on summer hols almost a week...

...and I haven't made any cards! Well, here's my excuse.....

We have a new member in our family. His name is Timbit. We got him from the local cats and dogs home on Saturday. He was sooo timid and shy there... hence "tim".... and the timbit comes from some goooorgeous little doughnuts we love, at Tim Hortons, in Canada...called Timbits! He is a 4 yr old mackerel tabby. He's coming right out of his shell now though.... he's in everything! He loves snuggling up with us on the sofa and curls right up close...almost to your face.

We just need him to get on a bit better with Lily...our lovely little girl (cat). They could be a lot worse I suppose, but he does hiss at her sometimes. We are trying to get them to be friends, bit by bit. Wouldn't be without him now though. He's so big and soft!

Anyway - back to a couple of card orders I had recently... This first card (gorjuss girls) I made for a friend who wanted a card for her grand-daughter who did really well in her S.A.T's. She was really pleased with this card! I decoupaged the girl onto some digi paper i printed, along with the sentiment, then I just added some ribbon and a couple of gems.

This next card was made for a couple at hubbys work - who were married last weekend. Sentiment printed onto card from pc, then used pink petticoat papers and ribbon and a few gems to finish. xx

I'm getting excited.....

....'Cos I only have another 4 sleeps until summer holidays start!! YIIPPPEEEEEE!!!!!
6 whole weeks of joy...ie: not going to work! Can't wait!!!!

Anyway, I have been doing a little craftin' in these last few weeks... first up, I made a wedding acceptance card for an evening do... Dovecraft papers, really simple and classy - I think.

This watering can is an image I have had for a while and never used... and I popped on a craftworks card butterfly, with the sentiment "thanks very much". I matted and layered on a few colours, and drew on some faux stitching.

I made this recently for my friends birthday. I gave it to her while we were sat on the grass in the back gaden, while eating pancakes, in the sunshine on sunday morning. She loved it :) I used Pink Petticoat paper and added a little stickles, to give a little bit of sparkle here and there (hard to see in the photo though.)

I made this for Dads birthday... he has an old Austin and he used to work in a garage in his younger days, tinkering. It's from the "Remember When" series and was on offer on the imag-e-nation site while England were in the world cup...hence the offer wasn't on too long!

And finally....another image I have had for a while and never used. I think it looks like an american style image, and I love that look. I used the hearts paper behind, but haven't added a sentiment yet. (still pondering on that one) Thanks for looking...and any comments you wish to leave. xx

Allsorts!

A friend at work had her birthday coming up.... I know she likes hedgehogs and poppies. I made her a hedgehog card lat yr so thought I would work on the poppy theme this time... Hey presto!... this is what I came up with...

I really liked this card too.... so I made another! (see below) This time, I used a scallop edged card, and I doodled on the scallops. I used a download for the poppies and the papers...very lovely! I also made an extra feature of the poppies by using glossy accents on each and every one.. took a bit of time, but worth it when it all dried! Craftwork cards sentiment added.

Today is mym Mums birthday - and I made her this easel card. It's quite hard to photograph an easel card, cos of the angle it stands! My mum loves to bake, esp with my neice (her granddaughter) and she loed this card. Yet again, I used downloaded papers and elements, and good ol' glossy accents! (on the gingerbread men and the heart cookies) Mum loved it.

I was a little stuck on a card for fathers day - and then I remembered I got the La pashe man on the loo last yr. I hadn't used this yet, so had a play with it. I made one for Hubbys Dad too. They both had a good laugh at it... tho my Dad swore he bever wears his flat cap while on the loo!

Finally, another friend from work recently celebrated her 40th birthday. She loves trendy stuff so I thought I would make her one of my funky handbag cards. I think she liked it :)

Cards for men!

My friend has a birthday coming up...he is actually a few months younger than me, but I joke that he looks a lot older than me, so I thought I would use this sentiment I came across... I tweeked and twiddled with it on the Pc to get the right size for my card. I used dovecraft papers and the vines are a cuttlebug diecut that I cut using my aunties dies a while ago. It made him smile anyway. (yes...he opened it early!)

My friend also has a foster child, well - he isn't a child anymore, I guess...cos he is just about to turn 16. I really find it hard to do male cards, but teenage boys are by far the worst. Hubby got me some papers and elements and i used lots of them to make this card. I have decoupaged the button and the 16 and have used glossy accents on them too, to make them really stand out. xx

It's coming up to wedding season....

Yes... it's coming up for that time of year again... wedding season!

The first card is for my Aunt and Uncle... they are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary in June. My twin sis and I were their bridesmaids...in pink satin dresses, with a big hoop underneath, and our hair was curled into ringlets. Oooh, those were the eighties!

Anyway, I generated the sentiment on the pc, and used a pink petticoat image, then matted everything on silver. I used glossy accents on the glasses, so they shine.

This card below, I made for a teacher at school.... she is now in Turkey, and is getting married on Wednesday. I used Pink Petticoat paper... called pretty doddles, matted on shiny black, and a ribbon tied around. Sentiment printed directly onto the card.

This is the other wedding card I made today... well, not strictly wedding, but a "renewing vows" card. Another Aunt asked me to make this for her to give. I hope she likes it!!

As you can see, this is not a wedding card... it's a card I made today for a special little girl who needs a bit of cheering up. The image is a gorjuss girl image...I love this one, with a cat. I have added some glossy accents to her red shoes, so they are shiny. I love little girls red, shiny shoes! I hope this cheers her up a bit. xx

Debs birthday and mural-type-thing!

Well, I have been wanting to put on these pics of our mural , since I painted it, but couldn't seem to get a good pic of it. (I's along a long wall in the hall, which is only a very long and thin hall so very awkward to get a good angle.) This will have to do - cos I have given up trying now! WE bought a huge "sticker " off the internet as we loved this sentiment. (we decorated our hall and living room in the easter hols) Anyway, as we were carefully trying to get it stuck into place, it all rolled up and stuck back on itself....it was like the worst (EVER!!) stciky-back-plastic. Nightmare!

So, Scott said we should have a go at doing our own! He made the banner on the pc and i chopped it up and stuck it all today, then we used it as a template for these words. I panted them by hand over a couple of evenings and hey presto! We are really pleased with it....and it's the first thing you see when you come in the front door. ....

Can you see that I have stuck some little gems to the wings of the butterflies and dragonflies? (and even a couple of o few of the letters pof the sentiment)

Then last week, I realised a friends birthday was fast approaching. She is an amazing crafter herself, and they are always the awkward ones, aren't they? heeehehe... She loves France, and sadly, I think she wants to move there, and when I saw this paper and image, I thought of her! Luckily, she loved the card...well, thats what she told me anyway :) heheheheee...xxx
