Aintree Craft show...

I am not going to be here too long, (honest!) cos I want to get on and craft with my new goodies!!!

I got... some bargain pots of stickles, at £1.50 each(!), a big scoop of blue magic glitter, a lovely bride and groom stamp from stamps away (excellent stamps and prices!!!) some craft wire in silver and gold, some paper you can cut into shapes, then peel off and add glitter too, some penny black stickers (never used penny black before!) and some fabric squares.....i felt totally inspired by what I saw, and all I can say is that I need to get to a Sainsburys as soon as poss for something i need to alter! (will explain more and put it in my blog when I can get there....hopefully later this week).

Oh, and I got this fab little iron - cos I just don't do ironing...I find if I hang things up on a hanger as soon as they come out of the washing machine, I don't need to iron :)...but with this steam iron thing, you can iron while its on the hanger...back and front at once! and even iron bedsheets whiel they are on the bed. (Had to get one for my mum and sis too!)

Well, I'm off to make cards now, and get down some of the lovely ideas from things I saw there!
Have a good day!!

So excited.....

...as I'm off to Aintree craft show tomorrow. Aunt Kathleen called me a couple of nights ago and asked if I want to go with her and her friend Maureen. Do I? Course I do! Otherwise, I was going to do that dreaded "h" word.... (housework). I have never been to anything like this before, and am so excited!! Don't know what I will buy...theres nothing I "need" at the minute, but you never know what might be too much of a bargain to miss!

Wish me luck! ;)

xx

I've been tagged again.....

....by Debbie. Thankyou! ;)

This one seems a bit easier...."tell me 7 facts about yourself" ....

1. I have worked as a nursery nurse (though only for a few months) at the nursery at Pinewood Studios....and in the canteen one day, I saw the cast from the Star Wars movie that they were making at the time (it was late 1999).

2. I have a twin sis and even I can't tell us apart on the photos of when were little babies!

3. I was lucky enough to find my soulmate (now husband aswell!) through putting an ad in the personals in the paper!

4. I am a complete and utter chocoholic...if I could have it for breakfast every morning, I would!

5. I used to paint murals a lot and have done many childrens bedrooms (on commission) and outdoor wall hangings, and I have even painted the inside of a double decker bus! (pirate themed as it was a "party bus".

6. Swimming is the only sport I can do and enjoy.

7. I have never smoked a cigarette or cigar...ever, not even held one. (is that sad?)

I now have to pass this onto 5 others.... I chose, lisa , cass, michelle and kath . I don't know another who hasn't had this tag - sorry!!!

My "handbag" collection

I made a whole load of handbag cards, after designing my own template, and showing them on the docrafts website, so I made a lot of them and photographed them altogether...hope you can see them ok in the picture. I have sold quite a few of these, (and sold quite a few of the template on ebay too!) It has been quite a while since I made any of this design, but may have another go soon, with some different papers and embellishments.

New Pink Petticoat download..

I didn't have anyone in particular in mind when I made this one, but when I saw the cats come online from Pink Petticoat last night, I could't resist! Someone put a post up on Docrafts a couple of weeks ago, asking what we would like Liz from pp to design for us. i suggested cats and babies...and hey presto...we have cats! (very cute!) So I had a play this morning. Coloured with watercolour pencils and my whispers water blender pen. (as usual). Also, just for a change, I thought I would make the shape of the card a little bit different. I carefully rounded one top corner, and I think I like the way it looks!

"Boy" cards

I bought these turtle images from Pink Petticoat, mainly for these male images. I have hardly any "boy" cards in my "collection" so have been having a play this morning....What do you think?!

"Boy" cards 2...

I'm loving my cuttlebug embossing folders and decided they would work well with the lovely Pink Petticoat images... So I came up with this one this morning! I hand-wrote the greeting, as I thought this was a fun card and needed a fun looking greeting.

My first tag!! :)

Im so chuffed to get this "tag" from my friend - Debbie. Thankyou Debbie!!!

Never done this before, so I prob won't be very good at it, but I'll have a go....

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
Hmm, possibly one of the women in friends,... just cos I love the show and I kinda see me and my friends like them! I have been likened (not looks, just personality!) to the character Monica, with her cleaning habit!
2. You are spending a whole month on a dessert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
A favourite celeb... theres a few! I would like to be on the island with Take That...well, they would all come as one package, wouldn't they? lol! I would love them to just sit with me and perform "Shine" for two weeks!! Least favourite celeb... Heather Small. It's not that I don't like her, but I just can't stand her voice! I would hate to be sat on the island, with her singing to me. I'm sorry to anyone who is a fan.
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
My big shot (& dies), my cuttlebug embossing folders and ribbons.
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
I would invent some kind of twin of me (apart from my real twin sis of course!) that could go to work for me and do all the cooking etc, while I sit and craft!
5. What are the last three books that you read?
Shopaholic and baby (Sophie Kinsella), Kathy's story - the magdalene laundries (can't remember the author, sorry!) and Keeper of the Keys (Perry O'Shaunessy)
6. Qvc or create & Craft?
QVC... I have only ordered a couple of things from there and I can't watch Dawn Bibby for too long, but I like Rosemerry Merry and the craft days when they have other "designers" on. Oh, but C & C makes me laugh when those women get together and can't stop giggling!
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
Hard choice! Have been buying a lot of dovecraft and dcwv papers recently....
8. What is your claim to fame?
Its not very good, but all I can think of at the min, is that I often shop in Bob Carolgees (remember him...with Spit the dog?) candle shop! And Rosemerry Merry's craft shop! Oh, and I just thought of another caim to fame,... I have had some of my cards selected and put on Liz's blog, from the very popular Pink Petticoat! Yeh!!!

SO, now I have to post the questions back here...
1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself? and why?
2. You are spending a whole month on a dessert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
5. What are the last three books that you read?
6. Qvc or create & Craft?
7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?

...and I need to "tag" five people. Hmmm... I don't know many bloggers yet, so I may end up tagging someone who has been tagged! Oh, and I haven't quite got the hang of making a link from someones name... any help appreciated!!

UPDATE.... I have just been tagged with the same tag, by Cass...thankyou Cass!!!! But I can't tag either of you (Cass or Debbie) now, can I? lol!!! help!
lol!!!

I'm so pleased!!!!

... I was selected to have some of my cards shown on the pink petticoat blog. I love this website and use a lot of the images and papers from downloads I get from Liz at pink petticoat. Having some cards published by Liz, made me feel a million dollars... and that my cards must be good!

I made this one for my friends birthday in March. (This is one of my cards shown on the pink petticoat blogspot...... http://pinkpetticoat.blogspot.com/) One of my favourite crafty bits at the minute, is the cuttlebug hippie-chick alphabet...which is how I made the "friend" on this card.

My first post!

Well...I have finally done it! (or rather, im trying!!!)

My blog has started!

All my friends at docrafts ( http://www.docrafts.co.uk/ ) and pink petticoat ( http://www.pinkpetticoat.co.uk/ ) have been asking about when I am starting my blog. So Sunday afternoon is as good a time as any, I think!

Its going to take me a while to get used to everything, but I will do my best...learning as I go along. Any advice and tips will be greatfully received!
Thanks for visiting!
